SQUINT

"The SQUINT suit in all its glory."

THE PILOTEdit

Pre-Fall HistoryEdit

Squint's history before The Fall is entirely unknown - not even the other Redditors know much about him. The only thing that can be positively identified about him is the fact that his TIE Pilot flight suit is not made with suit technology, and that he owned it before the pods fell. This makes it highly likely that he was either an actor or cosplayer, possibly a 501st Legion volunteer. His accent, whatever it is, is distorted by the voice amplifier built into his helmet.

Operational HistoryEdit

The pilot known as Squint was first encountered during the Battle of Chicago, where he engaged AC-aligned air suits in a high altitude dogfight above the crashed Star Destroyer superfort, and is credited with no less than 10 air-to-air kills. He survived the battle and fled afterwards, and has since been sighted at various battles around the globe. He has engaged forces on both sides, but has generally engaged TA-aligned suits more commonly than AC ones. He has yet to make actual contact with AC-aligned forces, and all information about him is taken from intercepted radio transmissions to other Reddit pilots.

Physical CharacteristicsEdit

Squint is a little less than two meters tall, and has an average build, leaning slightly towards slight. What he looks like under his signature TIE pilot outfit is anyone's guess - he has yet to take it off whilst any of our forces have been observing.

Psychological ProfileEdit

Squint appears to be something of an 'ace hunter' - in all known encounters with him, he has invariably targeted the most powerful air unit on the battlefield and engaged it without warning or remorse. This hints at possible arrogance on his part, or perhaps a need to prove himself to be the best. His lack of armour or defensive measures in his suit hints at a bravery that his preferred tactic of fighting from beyond the enemy's effective weapons range seems to deny. The man clearly has a very warped sense of honour.

It is entirely possible that the man's sense of reality itself is warped - in intercepted transmissions, he has never once broken character as a member of the fictional Galactic Empire, and refers to AC-aligned forces as Rebel Scum, and TA forces as alien filth of some measure or another. He is clearly a human supremacist, though he does not appear to have any loyalty to anyone but his fictional 'Empire'. He is a potential ally, but far too unstable to be considered in any way reliable.

Known AffiliatesEdit

Squint appears to have three categories that he sorts everyone into: Allies, Targets, and Non-combatants. He will talk freely with other Reddit forces, so long as they are in character as something from the Star Wars universe (and only in this case). He will target the strongest air suit or fighter craft on the field, but will otherwise ignore anyone unless they attack him. He seems to consider bombing runs to be distasteful. In short, as long as you are not flying, you need not consider Squint a threat.

THE SUITEdit

Tactical ProfileEdit

The suit we have dubbed the "TIE INTERCEPTOR" is extremely fast - it has been recorded at a maximum speed of 42 SPD units, making it (in bursts) the second fastest suit known (see White Falcon), though its average speed is 12-14 SPD units. The pilot uses this speed to freely 'kite' enemy units, keeping beyond the maximum effective range of their weapons. His own weapons appear to have highly advanced targeting systems and have proven to be exceptionally accurate, and appear to have an EMP effect.

The Modus Operandi for the TIE INTERCEPTOR is to ambush (usually from the direction of the sun) and unleash all four cannons simultaneously. This then stuns the victim, allowing the INTERCEPTOR time to get clear and set up another run. Repeated hit-and-run strikes wear down and destroy the enemy, whom usually is unable to effectively retaliate. Attempts to close distance are almost always met with failure - on the few instances of a unit actually returning fire, the INTERCEPTOR has used classic flares and chaff to avoid damage.

If encountered, suggested strategy is to land immediately. Squint appears to consider this to be an act of surrender and will not engage grounded targets unless fired upon. If an air confrontation is inevitable, it is suggested to fly at low altitude in areas with good cover, in order to negate the advantage of speed and agility. There is a possibility that the suit is vulnerable to electronic intrusion.

Glorious Leader, the command vessel of the Tongmu Platoon

THE PILOTEdit

Pre-Fall HistoryEdit

Glorious Leader's history before the Fall, or even whether it existed at all, is so highly classified that not even the A.I itself has knowledge of if it even existed. It was a highly sophisticated (for human tech, anyway) artificial intelligence created by the People's Republic of North Korea for use in its military. What IS known is that before Bruce Murray renamed it, it was called KAIN. Typically of the kind of people who operate suits, literally no-one called it by its actual name.

Operational HistoryEdit

Glorious Leader was first encountered during the improptu Operation Kim Jong Steal. The mission was run by Armoured Corps in order to hijack a North Korean transport boat carrying valuable supplies. Placed in direct control of the ship and in overall command of its defences, Glorious Leader used a combination of mesh suits, heavies, an array of highly unstable old-model Wave Motion Guns, and finally hacking in order to defend the vessel. Unfortunately for the A.I (but not for Armoured Corps), the AC forces were successful, and Glorious Leader was captured.

The psychotic artificial intelligence was encountered next during Operation Comet Thunder, a joint attempt by AC, TE and GI forces (mostly TE) to build and launch a satellite in order to gain a better strategic picture of the world around them (said satellite was possibly filled with WMG's as well). The AI remained more or less silent until Bruce Murray decided to shitpost everyone in audio range by blasting out techno music, and countered with martial North Korean music. The end result was a sleep deprivation fuelled music battle that got the mission commander involved and ended up in the AI hacking Bruce's suit and installing itself.

Glorious Leader's revenge was stifled by the fact that the Australian pilot was a dirty commie sympathizer and veteran shitposter. The two are known to have kept up a near-constant political debate and a war over control of the suit until the highly unofficial Night in Omsk, an operation that, as far as all records indicate, never happened. Glorious Leader was brought to the realization that through constantly proclaiming its superiority and sabotaging the collective efforts of those around it, it was acting more capitalist than its team-mates.

From that time, Glorious Leader began a rapid shift in personality, less assured of its own superiority and determined to earn the respect of its fellow pilots by becoming an example of a good comrade. This culminated in the so-called River Tam campaign, where a human pilot linked to the Vannai hive mind was located. Siding with Edinbrother and Bruce Murray from GI, Saltire from ACMP and Kingfisher from Phoenix Collective, Glorious Leader attempted to kill the modified human in order to prevent the biological superweapon from falling into enemy hands, or, worse, defecting of her own free will. The final attempt in this attack was Glorious Leader ejecting Bruce from his suit, overloading its Mimic Module in order to compete with River Tam's guards, and sacrificing itself in an attempt to stop them.

How Glorious Leader was restored from its destroyed state, and how it rose so high in the GI ranks in so short a time is a bit of a mystery, but in the post-Unity world, Glorious Leader serves as instructor and guide for the next generation of suit pilots.

Bruce Murray, former operator of the BUNYIP suit is perhaps the only living being that can be considered to be Glorious Leader's friend. Their relationship was originally adversarial, with the two forced to cooperate by the simple fact they were stuck in the same tin can. Glorious Leader is one of the only individuals still functional, along with the Tumblr Engineer leader Tommy and the Phoenix Collective pilot Grey, who knows Bruce's current whereabouts. It is known that Bruce gave Glorious Leader the BUNYIP suit shortly before disappearing into an early retirement.

BUNYIP

"The Green Initiative version of the BUNYIP suit."

THE PILOTEdit

Pre-Fall HistoryEdit

Bruce is exceptionally tight-lipped about his personal history before the fall, and no records of his existence or past have thus far been found by Armoured Corps or any allied organisation. Even his surname isn't completely certain, he alternately introduces himself as "Bruce Dunn" or "Bruce Murray" and doesn't even bother to keep the surnames consistent with whom he's speaking to. It's entirely probably that Bruce itself is an assumed name. From his accent and slang, he is clearly from Australia, but other than that almost nothing is known about the young pilot of the BUNYIP suit. He appears to have had some military training in his past, but from his attitude and mannerisms, it is unlikely that he was ever actually enlisted in a military force

He does, however, talk freely about his /tg/ exploits: He was an avid Paranoia, Twilight 2,000 and Aliens Adventure Game player, preferring sci-fi and high difficulty games to fantasy ones. He still has his Knight Tribal M:TG deck, and although it's pretty good, it isn't a 3 turn killer by a long shot. He also appears to have frequented /k/ as much at /tg/, if his use of /k/ memes is anything to go by.

Operational HistoryEdit

Bruce's first mission was the infamous Operation Fallen Palace, a rescue/investigation mission into the city of Durazno. Multiple rescue teams had already been sent and promptly disappeared, so the mission was considered 'high risk'. Bruce only came along reluctantly, due to a favour he owed Armoured Corps for saving his hide from a rogue suit pilot the week before. Ambushed by mutated humans in bio-suits, Bruce was deeply shocked and possibly traumatised by the experience, and still wears a pendant around his neck that belonged to the first human he ever killed. The mission was considered a partial success, and Durazno was firebombed into oblivion.

Operation Hardball was supposed to be an easy mission - honour guard duty for a diplomatic meeting with a French delegate about acquiring launch systems for a comms satellite that was planned to go up. An ill-chosen word on Bruce's part almost caused an incident, and ended up in his removal from the building. He spent his time outside the doors, watching for snipers and chatting with the pilot of VALKYRIE, who was Command's liaison for the mission. He was therefore unable to assist in putting down the following assassination attempt on the French diplomat. After the assassination attempt, the team was quickly extracted. A deal was eventually made, no thanks to Bruce.

Distrustful of Hanse and Armoured Corps by this stage, Bruce had began to spend more time with members of the Green Initiative, the second-oldest of the known Suit Factions. A military history enthusiast, he joined a pilgrimage to the old battlefield of the Battle of Kursk, the largest tank conflict in human history, on the anniversary of the battle. He found himself caught in a violent revolution, and sided with the revolutionaries in their attempt to seize the city of Kursk. When the government forces counter-attacked, he sent a distress signal and was able to trick AC into coming into the battle on the side of the Revolutionaries. This was his first high-intensity conflict, and solidified his relationship with Green Initiative, as well as cementing himself as a member of the Red Revolution. This operation was known as the 2nd Battle of Kursk

Bruce's last mission as an independent pilot was Operation Broken Containment: an attempt to free the South American city of Veracruz from cartel forces. The mission saw him and a small team breaking into a fortress under cover of an artillery barrage and capturing it. Bruce and the pilot known as (9) investigated further after the capture of the fort, descending down into the dungeons and freeing the prisoners the cartels had kept to blackmail their families. It was the sight of the fortress's torture room that finally drove Bruce to join the Green Initiative officially. Also of note is that he killed his first two suits, a pair of meshes, on this mission.

Bruce's first mission as a member of Green Initiative was Operation Dealbreaker, a rescue attempt of the pilot known as DOG, a well-respected veteran. In the deserts of former Iran. Opposing them was a mysterious team of mercenaries, with whom Bruce negotiated after they hacked into his communications. He kept the mercs distracted for long enough to allow his allies to get into position for an assault. Though DOG was rescued, the mercs escaped. It is believed that Bruce has since then communicated with the mercs at least once. His rivalry with the pilot known as 'Green' was established during this mission, after he taunted the mercenary so badly the man had to retreat from the battlefield to keep his composure.

Definitely NOT Bruce's finest hour, his next mission was an attempt to launch the satellite that the French had helped assemble after the negotiations that Bruce had failed to assist in at all. Sleep-deprived after a siege and two other missions back-to-back without rest, Bruce was less than sane on this mission, and proved more of a hindrance than a help, engaging in a song war with his allies and annoying them to the point of his own suit being hacked and a hostile North Korean A.I being downloaded into his suit. Bruce was pleased as punch by this, and has since named the A.I 'Dear Leader', and kept it. Operation Comet Breaker was a success, no thanks to Bruce.

Following this, Bruce's next mission was another investigation/rescue, something that was starting to become his speciality. Attempting to locate a missing AC pilot, Bruce was able to find a revolver jammed with different bullets, and caught on that the different calibres were likely the password to something important. This vital information was completely ignored as his allies hacked the doors, laptops and safes anyway. Bruce showed exceptional caution during the infiltration of what turned out to be a Tumblr Base, and was on rearguard duty. Keeping an eye on the base entrance, he was fortunate enough to not see the horrors inside that his comrades did. Operation Bye Bye Byrdy was considered an overall success.

Bruce's most recent mission was a return to his homeland of Australia, on a mission to recapture Perth (Ingeniously called Operation Perth or Bust). His first major suit battle kicked off the invasion, with him blinding a large Graboid, being swallowed and killing it from the inside. Damaged and injured, Bruce then served the rest of the mission as recon, keeping an eye on the generator buildings whilst his comrades captured and disabled them. Only in the final push did he risk himself and enter the battlefield, where his twin Ion Cannons proved useful in facing down the bio-zombie hordes (the second time Bruce has faced mutated human bio-suits). The mission, much like Fallen Palace, has definitely left its scars on his psyche.

Physical CharacteristicsEdit

Uncharacteristically for the often muscular members of Green Initiative, Bruce is skinny, bordering on downright anorexic. Though he has a surprising amount of stamina, he isn't very strong - likely a combination of a fast metabolism and malnourishment during his time on the run. His complexion is rather tanned, a testament to the large amount of time that Bruce apparently spends outside of his suit. His messy brown hair is almost always hidden under a battered, scorched Akubra hat that he seems to be unwilling to part with, even taking it with him into battle. His right cheek has a large criss-cross scar from Operation Perth or Bust, and his right shoulder has a skull and crossbones tattoo. He has ice-blue eyes and a set of stubble across his jaw that is sometimes scraggly and sometimes neatly trimmed, often depending on the difficulty and stress levels of the missions he has been on most recently. Currently, it's close to becoming a neckbeard.

He is often seen with his pet Wombat, Fatso, whom he has apparently managed to tame to some degree. His ability to carry the heavy lump of lard and bone around is a testament to his physical endurance.

ALLIES

IVAN is an Armoured Corps pilot that sums up everything about the faction Bruce dislikes, but the man's friendly attitude and dedication to his missions has made Bruce look up to the man as something of a mentor. Even though they have drastically different methods (Ivan operates an artillery suit), the two appear to have a healthy measure of respect for each other. The two have served together in Fallen Palace, Kursk and Broken Containment, three of the most traumatising missions for Bruce yet.

(9) is a suit that Bruce strongly suspects to be piloted by an Artificial Intelligence, but despite this the two formed something of a bond during Broken Containment, going down into the dungeon levels together and freeing the civilians that had been imprisoned and tortured there. The two haven't worked together since, but it is likely they will do so in the future.

Edinbrother Bruce met Edin during Broken Containment and the two got along well, swapping snarky comments and enjoying the company of fellow Commonwealth royalists. He has a healthy amount of respect for the man, especially since Edinbrother helped Bruce rescue the civilian prisoners from the cruel dungeons run by the Cartels in Veracruz.

ENEMIES

The mercenary pilot known as GRAY hacked Bruce's comms during Operation Dealbreaker, and the two served as negotiators for their respective teams. Gray appears to run on logic much more than emotion, and never loses her cool. Bruce hasn't seen her suit in action yet. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the two have spoken since Operation Dealbreaker, though to what end is unknown.

Bruce's chief rival in the mercenary group disparagingly referred to by AC as the Power Rangers is GREEN, the unit's sniper and strongman. An impatient fellow with anger issues and quite possibly ADHD, he attempted to insult and taunt Bruce during Operation Dealbreaker, but was instead goaded into firing upon Bruce and revealing his position. Bruce badly mauled Green's suit during the mission, and Green has sworn revenge. Though usually cowardly, Bruce has indicated that he looks forward to the rematch.
