Fort Ryman is an Armor Corps firebase built into the ruins of the fishing town Anadolufeneri in former Turkey, overlooking the Black Sea entrance of the Bosphorus. The initial fortifications were dug out by Ryman's suit, the Mecoptera, during Operation Black Sea Straights. Control of the location was given over to Armor Corps following the completion of that mission, though Albrecht was able to argue for the firebase to retain its name. Stronger, more permanent fortifications were added later, turning it into an Armor Corps strongpoint in the region expected to endure for the foreseeable future as the human population returns to making use of the straights.

Perhaps as a result of the mysterious "dead zone" and increasingly apparent desertification of the area, there are a great deal of dark rumours surrounding the firebase and its construction, involving wild tales of corpse mutilation and occultism. These rumours are completely unfounded, and Armor Corps Command discourages the spreading of such baseless tales.

Ownership of Fort Ryman was abruptly made private shortly after Operation Between The Frontline And The Stars.

Features[]

Fort Ryman

The location of Fort Ryman.

As a coast firebase, Fort Ryman has several platforms built to house artillery cannons on the cliffs overlooking the Black Sea. The firebase also features an extensive trench network and several underground sections for storing ammunition and supplies, as well as even acting as temporary hangars for suits and other machinery. Recent developments have also seen the development of an airstrip to facilitate aircraft and suit landings.

Also found at Fort Ryman and birthed at the same time is a diabolical construct fashioned from the bone and gristle those poor souls who once called this lifeless land their home. Those who look upon the xylobone know on a primal level this macabre instrument's infernal purpose in the fleeting nightmares of their waking moments, that this devilish device will one day join in the cacophony that ends the world on a rising crescendo of malice. The mere sight of this disgusting contraption causes the blood to run cold and the Black Sea to roil. In the interim, it is kept in the canteen, where it is free to be used by the staff for their entertainment, featuring prominently in many a karaoke night.
