The lore behind the many national and militaristic entities following the Bright Offensive are recorded here. THIS LORE IS SPECIFIC TO PACYOA:TE AND IS NON-AFFILIATED WITH PACYOA:AD.

Political and National Governance Edit
After the success of the Bright Offensive carried out by the five major suit factions from December 13th, 2014 to January 5th, 2015, many national entities once kept in exile and in hiding from the danger of the TA have risen back to take a tense yet commanding role in their nation. As opposed to previous nations, who were once merely supporters of suit offensives in spirit and support, nations are regaining control and can offer some semblance of real assistance to the factions. The political scene is currently not able to fully break from suit factions, as the majority of military power lies within the five central factions. On top of this, nations are still mostly ceremonial, with major decisions being handled by allied factions. However, this shows a step towards major progress. Hanse Behorde currently handles and deals with the majority of faction-nation politics.
The current map is shown to the right, with the color key as follows:
- DARK GREY - New Zealand
- YELLOW - Australia
- LAVENDER - Malaysia/Oceanic Alliance
- LIME GREEN - Singapore/Brunei/Oceanic Alliance
- ORANGE - Holy Federation of Western Asia (HFWA)
- LIGHT GREY - Western Asia Proper
- STRIPED RED/BLUE - Western Russia
- GREEN - Germany/European Union
- MERLOT - Switzerland/European Union
- DARK BLUE - Italy/European Union
- VIOLET - France
- PINK - Mauritania
- BROWN - South Africa
- PURPLE - Venezuela
- GOLD - Mexican Authority
- LIGHT BLUE - United States of America
- RED - Chicago/American Coalition
- BEIGE - Salt Lake City
As a side note, no faction operates as a national entity. Despite the vast amount of power vested within the many factions, they still operate independently from national entities and therefore no faction counts as a "nation".
New Zealand Edit
New Zealand has long since been an associate of Armor Corps, and was the nation to accept the corps early on after the initial invasion. This investment in unknown weaponry, however, turned out to be extremely wise in the long run, as Armor Corps developed from being a loose collection of mech suits into a coordinated and efficient military force. Thanks to the assistance from both Armor Corps and the headquarters in the Far North, New Zealand has seen large amounts of peace. New Zealand has harbored thousands of refugees, and many believe that New Zealand is one of the most powerful nations on the planet thanks to the amount of security they are provided.
Needless to say, New Zealand rarely speaks with the other factions, and only communicates with Hanse Behorde as a formality. New Zealand operates almost exclusively through Armor Corps, and a majority of the citizens in New Zealand work for Armor Corps in providing civilian assistance, small military assistance, or resource production. Armor Corps is not a national entity, but New Zealand operates as an extension of the corps' will, thereby bolstering the power that the corps has.
CLOSEST ALLIANCE: ARMOR CORPS // NATIONAL POLICY: ISOLATIONIST // RESOURCES AVAILABLE: SUPPLIES, MANPOWER // RESOURCES NEEDED: NONE
Australia, the distant cousin of New Zealand, has had trouble in the past and was forced into hiding after the initial invasion. However, despite the high amount of casualties, Australia was one of the first nations to begin retaking land, thanks to a close proximity to the developing Armor Corps. With the amount of land Australia holds and the majority of life existing on the coastal areas (especially those to the East), retaking Australia had a very fruitful and efficient start. When the Bright Offensive was launched, one of the very first priorities for Armor Corps was securing and establishing a functioning government in Australia. After a surprisingly easy campaign, the TA were battled back to a point where Armor Corps could begin to set up outposts and static defenses. As new cities were occupied and secured, TA presence fell back further and further.
While Australia is considered to be secured, there is still a TA presence. Due to the sheer size of the Australian nation, the near-absolute majority of occupied cities and Armor Corps outposts exist exclusively on the outskirts and coastal regions of Australia. The central area of Australia, the Outback, is said to still contain a very large TA force scattered amongst the region. However, the functioning parts of Australia, that is to say the societal elements, are still considered somewhat safe.
Australia is a close ally of Armor Corps, and has readily offered its own military assistance for assistance in taking back the rest of Asia. Australia acts with the Oceanic Alliance when making political decisions, and is generally a power player in non-suit political decisions. However, due to the large amount of space and New Zealand's isolationist policies, Australia has been the more recent location for refugees to be relocated to. Australia is in constant need of supplies, but offers its own surviving military force to assist others.

The Oceanic Alliance Edit
The Oceanic Alliance was formed after numerous offensives in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Papua New Guinea. From the results of the Bright Offensive, a very slim secure zone has been set up in this area. While many of these areas are technically "secure", the TA have launched numerous counterattacks on the upper Oceanic region to retake key naval hardpoints and establish dominance in the area. The Oceanic Alliance is made up of Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, and speaks with Australia concerning the Oceanic region.
Malaysia acts as a secured national entity, and acts as a country on the two islands it occupies. It relies heavily upon Armor Corps military assistance, and despite have numerous occupied cities, is still unsafe due to its proximity to uncontrolled territory in Asia. However, Malaysia still acts as a governing body with a peacekeeping force holding a martial law. Singapore and Brunei are allied countries, and act as a conjoined government for both bodies. They remain unaligned with the nation of Malaysia, but still make up part of the Oceanic Alliance. Both Singapore and Brunei follow Malaysia's example, and have imposed martial law upon the occupied cities they rule.
Indonesia and Papua New Guinea act as part of the Oceanic Alliance, but do not consider their respective lands to be "secure". Indonesian officials reside within Singapore, whereas Papua New Guinea's numerous Armor Corps outposts house their own officials. However, neither body has declared any land livable and therefore have no secured national bodies. Instead, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea act as assistants in the political process of the Oceanic Alliance, but are otherwise smaller influentially than the three secured nations. The Oceanic Alliance, as a whole, is surprisingly powerful in non-suit politics despite its unstable nature, however this may be due to close ties with Australia and Armor Corps.

Middle East Edit
Holy Federation of Western Asia (HFWA) Edit
After the Bright Offensive's attack and successful occupation of Dubai, the Holy Federation of Western Asia moved its central governing body to the large city to establish a new network of operations over the southern section of the Middle East. With control over Yemen, Oman, the UAE, and parts of lower Saudi Arabia, the Holy Federation of Western Asia works closely with Moqaddas to secure and control the Middle East. Despite being made up of numerous religious bodies, the HFWA has successfully used the magnitude of the situation to bring together the many people that make up its populace. Using a unitarian view from large amounts of Moqaddas pressure, the HFWA intends to establish a religious haven for non-suit refugees.
The HFWA operates on religious law, but is required to tone down punishments and operate using a more secular legal system. Moqaddas and the HFWA work very closely with one another, as the HFWA provides Moqaddas with resources in the form of manpower, funding, and oil. The resources provided have warranted Moqaddas to help defend the HFWA, and the numerous cities that have been occupied are usually very secure. Dubai, the central city of the HFWA, risks attacks from the lower sections of Iran, and therefore Moqaddas has put special effort into ensuring that this city is secured. Dubai is one of the most fortified non-suit areas on the planet.
Politically, the HFWA speaks with absolute authority on the Middle Eastern area, despite the existence of Western Asia Proper. The HFWA has close ties with Hanse as well as Moqaddas thanks to immense funding opportunities, and the HFWA is considered to be a major political player in non-suit politics. However, the HFWA does not usually see eye-to-eye with other nations, and usually deals with things using Moqaddas as a mediator. The HFWA is surprisingly self-sufficient despite arid conditions, and has succeeding securing its own supplies and resources for the many people it represents.

Western Asia Proper Edit
Bright Offensive attacks from Moqaddas were coordinated to target and occupy cities of all parts of the Middle East. Cities along Iraq and Kuwait, moving from Basrah upwards towards Baghdad were taken rapidly to secure as much of Western Asia as was possible. As cities in the northern parts of Western Asia were taken, the HFWA informed Moqaddas and Hanse that they would not be able to provide the military power required to hold onto these cities. On top of this, the proximity of this area from the HFWA headquarters of Dubai over lands considered unsafe proved to be too much for the HFWA to manage. This area was given to Moqaddas and Hanse to secure and handle.
The joint governments of Iraq, Iran, and Syria worked with Moqaddas during this time to establish a military presence and secure the few cities taken. Kuwait's remaining governing body assisting in managing its own lands, and the cities in this region were occupied despite ever-present dangers and ongoing conflict. However, despite pre-suitfall tensions between the numerous governing bodies, they united to form Western Asia Proper, a makeshift governing body for the upper Middle East. Despite conflict, Western Asia Proper proved itself to be a hardy national entity, and was established in alliance with Moqaddas.
The Holy Federation of Western Asia contacted Western Asia Proper as means to incorporate them into the federation, seeing as they established a somewhat secure area. The officials in Western Asia Proper, however, unwilling to give land up and unhappy with the lack of assistance it had received prior to inception, rejected this incorporation and continues to function as its own nation. Western Asia Proper is made up of a motley assortment of Middle Eastern national entities, and is comprised of 8 council members who serve as the absolute authority. Tensions between the HFWA and Western Asia Proper are largely political, and rarely escalate past argumentation. Politically, Western Asia Proper is nowhere near as powerful as the HFWA, but continues to serve as another body of government in non-suit politics.

Western Russia Edit
Western Russia is currently the most violent area of all non-suit related regions, as it is embroiled in a type of civil war for dominance. While Eastern and Central Russia function as independent village networks, the Bright Offensive assisted in getting certain larger cities in Russia, and Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Volgograd were among some of the larger cities retaken. However, two national governments have risen to "take control" of this region. This conflict has existed since pre-Resurgence invasions, but with occupied cities now being so heavily numbered, this conflict has become much larger.
There is a Separatist movement, bred from Russian survivors abandoned by a central government after the initial invasion. Making the best of what they could, these survivors established vast networks across urban areas and acted as the main populace of the area for the majority of non-occupation. The Separatists learned the movements of TA and waged an everyday war with the Vannai-controlled suits, barely surviving day-to-day. These survivors believed themselves to be the only remaining people in Russia, and formed a large network across Western Russia in which supplies, messages, and munitions moved between these refugees.
There is a Loyalist movement, bred from the central Russian government exiting exile following the initial invasion. When suit factions first contacted Russians in hopes of finding survivors, some of the first to be reached were the government officials themselves. These Russian officials, made up of government, military, and corporate VIPs, could do little to save Western Russia due to the scorched-earth type tactics that the TA were using. Hiding and making the best of the remaining military hardware and supplies they had, the officials set up an impromptu government. However, as humanity made a push against Vannai forces, the Russian governing body came to find that there were still many survivors displaced among the many cities in Western Russia. However, upon trying to reestablish the former government, they were met with large amounts of resistance from the Separatists, who believed themselves to be the rightful owners of Western Russia.
The situation in Russia is extremely tense, and small skirmishes between Separatists and Loyalists are common. Officially, the major occupied cities in Western Russia are under a temporary government provided and closely monitored by Armor Corps. Hanse has been rejected from interfering with the "nonpartisan" Russian government due to its close ties with the Russian Loyalists. Armor Corps (and Moqaddas) has locked down many of the larger occupied cities, and requires that those living within do not involve themselves with the conflict. Armor Corps, Moqaddas, and the Tumblr Engineers have threatened major supply withdrawls to Hanse and the GI if either openly support either the Separatists or Loyalists by providing anything more than food, water, and living essentials. Hanse and the Green Initiative are somewhat bitter to each other about the situation in Western Russia, and neither are allowed to conduct missions in support of either side.
Western Russia is forbidden from acting as its own political entity in Hanse diplomacy, and is represented fully by Armor Corps in suit/nation proceedings. However, the nonpartisan government is still allowed to remain in contact with other nations in non-suit politics. Armor Corps has requested that both the Separatists and Loyalists resolve matters with negotiations, but there is frequent fighting between the two in smaller towns and in more remote areas. Moscow and St. Petersburg are the largest nonpartisan cities. Volgograd is the largest occupied city with ties to the Separatists. Saratov is the largest occupied city with ties to the Loyalists.

The European Union Edit
Europe was among the worst hit after the initial invasion, but has made a definite comeback after the creation of Hanse Behorde and the increasing power and control retained by the numerous suit factions. The European Union acts as a largely ceremonial uniting body for the number of European countries who have begun to emerge after the success of the Bright Offensive. The European Union is home to the Hanse Behorde headquarters, and therefore is the center of suit/nation negotiations. On top of this, the European Union has acted as a central uniting force for the numerous surviving Europeans, and is slowly expanding despite national disputes.
Germany is the largest of the countries in the European Union, having taken back the entirety of its borders with assistance from Hanse military units and some Armor Corps and Moqaddas divisions. Germany acts as the head of the European Union in non-suit diplomacy, and makes up a vast majority of the population of the union from all those who live within its borders. Included in Germany's new borders are the Czech Republic and lower Poland, both of which were liberated during the Bright Offensive. The Czech Republic and Polish goverment were both given the ability to establish their own national entities, but decided to instead bond with Germany in order to strengthen both their border security and their ties with Hanse. Germany includes the former borders of the Czech Republic and lower Poland, and both regions are still affected by German federal authority, however both of these former states are still granted the ability to function with autonomy, and are more like allies than actually being part of the country itself. Population and development-wise, Germany is one of the largest and most influential nations on the planet. This may, however, be due to the connections it has with Hanse Behorde.
Switzerland had one of the highest proportional survival rates among European countries, mainly thanks to preemptive planning and geographical advantages. The strategic value of Switzerland's location and former policies helped establish a somewhat effective hidden government that presided over a surviving populace. When the Bright Offensive moved to take a large amount of Swiss cities back, the Swiss government offered assistance and manpower to assist securing these cities. Switzerland was the fastest retaken national entity, and the government was quick to reestablish control over its populace. However, the Swiss have ditched a confederacy system in favor of a more unitary one, with explanation being given as necessary stability. Switzerland offers little but is very helpful with the non-suit diplomatic process, acting as they always have and taking a neutral stance on most issues. However, ties with the European Union and Hanse Behorde have put them in a position of support for Hanse.
Italy has only recaptured its northern lands, but still considers itself to be a functioning nation. Acting as a central religious locale for non-suits in Europe, the Italians have also had good ties with the Green Initiative thanks to the amount of secured and saved cultural artifacts from the many cities Italy took back. Italy is considered the odd one out in the European Union, and usually acts as a foil to a largely dominion-focused alliance. Italy still holds some power within the union, however, and acts with an authority not below that of Switzerland.
France was retaken, but the governing body cannot be nailed down completely. Hundreds of "governments" have risen from the many occupied cities in France, and there is no official government which unites all of them fully. France works as numerous governments with connections to one another, and the stability of France is ensured more with the individual city states than it is with a unified government. The many governing bodies have vastly different ideologies, beliefs, and alliances, and there is rarely something that all will agree on with certainty. France has been permitted to be a part of the European Union, but due to the instability of its government, France very rarely has a representative for its entire national body. France is represented by a single color on the map, but in truth should be represented with dozens of colors scattered throughout the region. The largest acting government is the government of Paris, which considers itself to be the central authority of France (similar to every other French city).
England, Denmark, and Spain have governments that have reached out to the European Union and there are definitely surviving governments and populaces in both. Hanse forces are too widely spread defending other nations, however, and these areas have not yet been retaken. Among others, Belgium, the Netherlands, upper Poland, Portugal, Austria, Hungary, Ukraine, Romania, and the Balkan regions also appear to have national bodies looking for assistance.

Once a largely poor nation with little power, the events following the initial invasion allowed this once poverty-striken country to thrive as a military hub. Utilizing gear from other sub-Saharan countries and uniting those countries as best it could, Mauritania served as a stable national body well before the Bright Offensive. However, the Bright Offensive include some regions of Africa and negotiations were brought up with Mauritania to discuss occupation assistance and political proceedings. Demanding that a zone of security be set up before expansion, Mauritania worked in conjunction with Moqaddas and the Green Initiative to occupy and secure hundreds of cities within its former borders, coming to eventually establish a zone of control from which future operations could be conducted.
Mauritania previously had a highly xenophobic view of power armor, but has lessened its distrust in the wake of both the Bright Offensive and the openings for political discussion between non-suit entities. Mauritania is the launching location for nearly all African missions, due to its unlikely yet ironclad stability. Mauritania has amassed and maintained one of the largest non-suit militaries on the planet, and has been able to fend off TA counterattacks with minimal assistance. Politically, Mauritania acts as the authority on African discourse, but finds itself allied with South Africa as well.

South Africa Edit
Affected quite heavily by the events of the initial invasion, South Africa was hidden similarly to most other nations after the attacks of the TA. However, as South Africa began to pull itself together, it gained support from numerous factions, namely Armor Corps and the Green Initiative. With the events of the Bright Offensive, the Green Initiative launched a largely independent campaign to occupy and secure South African territory. After weeks of fighting and little assistance from other factions, South Africa was eventually stabilized and received its own national entity of which it governed. The South African government is largely protected by the Green Initiative, who mainly headed the liberation effort to begin with. South Africa has offered refuge for African survivors, and is rapidly growing in population.
Despite concerns of security due to the fewer amount of outposts and suits proportionally stationed there as opposed to other nations, South Africa has held itself together quite well, and is considered a key location for operations in lower Africa. On top of this, South Africa also acts as a popular place for pilots to take leave for medical or theraputic reasons.

South America Edit
Currently the only stabilized country in South America, the Green Initiative used the Bright Offensive to help secure Venezuelan borders. The Venezuelan government has become a large association of numerous governmental bodies from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, and Uruguay, as well as Venezuela itself. The missions conducted by the Green Initiative in South America were mainly based in refugee rescue and border security instead of aggressive expansion. Because of this, Venezuela is the only secured nation in South America, however it is extremely secure and functions as a bastion of defense for both civilians and national diplomacy.
Outposts and suit defense in Venezuela registers as being one of the most efficient, and very rarely do TA cause lasting damage from counterattacks, invasions, or sabotage. From this, non-suit governing officials have done well to establish the basic pieces of infrastructure and have allowed Venezuela to become one of the most populous nation of Earth, which is especially advantageous with the high amount of defense and local happiness within Venezuelan borders. Venezuela is the central location for non-suit political proceedings, and all politics between national entities are handled in Venezuela, which is considered the safest and most stable place to conduct these negotiations. Green Initiative influence can be felt from this, but Armor Corps has worked with the other factions to ensure that GI do not interfere with the politics between non-suit entities while they are being conducted.
Venezuela has a long-lasting and healthy relationship with the faction it harbors, and the Green Initiative have provided ample defense and assistance in setting up and securing their region. The Green Initiative has made plans to expand outwards, but currently Venezuela is the key nation of South America. Also, due to the stability of the nation paired with its importance in politics between non-suits, Venezuela is considered to be one of the most influential non-suit nations.

North America Edit
Mexican Authority Edit
Based on the Eastern edge of Mexico, the Mexican Authority used assistance from the Green Initiative and Armor Corps to establish a network of towns and cities during the Bright Offensive. With every city secured, the Mexican government worked with the Sinaloa Cartel to establish and secure a political system and ensure security. The Mexican government established itself as the head of the newly appropriated lands, but the Sinaloa Cartel threatened to abandon the protections provided under its unusually wide spectrum of control. From this the Mexican government was forced to pair itself with the Sinaloa Cartel to form the Mexican Authority, a form of junta with military and former cartel leaders establishing the laws for the people.
Armor Corps has been highly skeptical of the Sinaloa Cartel's involvement with national authority, and prior to the Bright Offensive the Sinaloa did little to conduct criminal activities in fear of Armor Corps punishment or attack. While the Green Initiative has worked with the former Mexican government and the Mexican Authority, Armor Corps has been brought in to monitor the activities and functions of the Mexican Authority. The situation is tense, as the previous cartel is under extreme scrutiny for any and all actions they take, and the Green Initiative has denounced actions taken by Armor Corps as being overbearing. Politically, the Mexican Authority acts as a less-than-influential player in North American discussions, due to the fallout between the United States of America and the American Coalition.

The United States of America Edit
The "official" governing body of the former continental United States, the United States of America was formed after Armor Corps and Green Initiative occupations across the American Southeast prompted a need for government. The few survivors of the southern cities pulled together what little resources were available and established the United States of America as a temporary government to handle the functions of the retaken cities. The majority of larger cities were decimated, and therefore many live in smaller towns. The United States of America is made up of a network of towns interconnected by supplies and outposts.
Armor Corps has worked with the United States of America to attempt to get it back on its feet by providing military assistance for defense and supplies, however the now much smaller nation has little to offer in return and has been forced to utilize whatever they can to survive. The official United States of America is at very tense odds with the American Coalition, and defiantly refuses to join it, claiming that the American Coalition is not an official state. The United States has limited political power, but argues against the American Coalition frequently and uses whatever power it can to attempt an integration of Coalition cities into its own borders.

The American Coalition Edit
Chicago was a city that survived the initial invasion, and continued to beat back TA forces even after being abandoned by the federal military and faction militaries as well. Chicago was a largely self-sufficient city, and established itself as a city state with its own functioning government. Prior to the Resurgence missions, Chicago was home to many refugees and had been in contact with Armor Corps and the Green Initiative for a while, receiving odd supply drops and limited military assistance. However, the Bright Offensive saw a wave of assistance from not only Armor Corps and the Green Initiative, but from Hanse Behorde and Moqaddas as well. Chicago established larger and larger borders for itself, and the City State of Chicago eventually secured itself in a degree it hadn't been able to achieve prior to the occupation campaign.
With expansion as an option, however, Chicago assisted Armor Corps and the Green Initiative with retaking cities in the Great Lakes area, and pushed outward to expand further into American lands. With every new city occupied, Chicago annexed said city under its own control for governance. As things expanded further and further with the successes of the Bright Offensive, Chicago eventually established the American Coalition, a united force of local cities and governing bodies, with itself at the head of the Coalition. Chicago acts as the beating heart of the American Coalition, and the lands expand around the Great Lakes area moving up into Canada as well.
The American Coalition has been at odds with the official United States of America since the latter's creation. The American Coalition offered entry into its alliance early on, but the United States refused to operate under direct control from Chicago. The American Coalition is quite powerful in non-suit politics, and harbors the headquarters for the Phoenix Collective, which provides the majority of their defense and security. Because of this, the American Coalition has rarely needed additional suit defense and maintains its own special relationship with Phoenix to provide security and assistance.
